Plans and billing

Subscriptions belong to a team: who can manage them, choosing a plan, trials, and the Stripe billing portal.

A subscription belongs to a team, not to a person. Everyone on the team works under the team's plan, and only the team's administrators can see or change it.

Who can manage billing#

Team administrators find Subscription in the sidebar under Settings, and Subscription & billing in their account menu. Members don't see these links. If a member opens the page anyway, the app tells them that only team administrators can manage subscriptions. See Teams, members and roles to make someone an administrator.

Choosing a plan#

While the team has no active subscription, the subscription page shows the available plans. Pick one to go to a checkout page hosted by Stripe, our payment provider. You enter your payment details there, not in the app. When you're done, Stripe sends you back to the app and the page shows your subscription.

The paid plans are Shop and Production, with monthly and annual billing in US dollars. Annual billing charges once for the year, at the price of ten monthly payments. The checkout page shows the amount and renewal interval before you subscribe. Free does not require a Stripe subscription; Plant is arranged with our team.

The billing page always shows your team's current access. If paid signup is still being prepared, the page says so and does not open a paid checkout.

Trial and limits#

Every new team starts a 14-day Production trial with 25 seats and 100 GB, without a card. At the end it moves to Free: 2 seats and 5 GB. The trial never charges you automatically. Completing a paid checkout starts your paid plan immediately, even if trial time remains. Canceling a paid subscription does not restart a trial.

Shop includes 10 seats and 500 GB; Production includes 25 seats and 2 TB. Customer reviewers do not consume seats. Pending invitations do not reserve seats: the limit is checked again when someone accepts. A downgrade keeps your members and files, but new invitations or uploads can be refused until your team fits its allowance. Downloads and existing proof links remain available. See Storage for what counts toward storage.

Shop enables quoting, imposition, nesting, advanced proofs, custom preflight profiles, prepress tools, cut files and scheduling. Production adds trapping, Screening and workflow access with API keys. Files API access is available on Free. Plant's label-copy tools and custom storage require an active contract; ask our team to arrange one. Artwork and imposition-run allowances are fair-use guides, not automatic hard stops.

Add-ons#

Choose a plan and billing period, then enter Extra team seats and Extra storage packs (250 GB each). Quantities range from 0 to 100; contact us for a larger contract. The add-on quantities are in addition to the seats and storage included in the plan.

  • Extra Shop seats cost $29/month each; extra Production seats cost $19/month each.
  • Each 250 GB storage pack costs $25/month.
  • Screening on Shop costs $149/month; Production already includes it.
  • Guided setup can be added to Shop checkout for $499 once. Annual Production includes guided setup.

Recurring add-ons use the base plan's billing period. Annual add-ons cost ten monthly payments, billed once a year. Stripe shows your complete total before payment. An unfinished checkout can be resumed by submitting the same selection. Use Cancel unfinished checkout before choosing a different selection.

Changing plans or add-ons#

Choose Change plan or add-ons from your subscription. Select the complete new subscription, including any add-ons you want to keep, then choose Review price change. The review shows the recurring price, prorated invoice total and amount due now in US dollars. Only Confirm subscription change authorizes a charge to your saved payment method. Credits reduce billing; a negative invoice total does not issue a cash refund.

The review expires after ten minutes. If the subscription or total changes meanwhile, review it again. Changing between monthly and annual billing starts a new billing cycle. Changes that require payment take effect when the payment succeeds; if it needs attention, open Manage billing and pay the invoice. Resume a subscription scheduled for cancellation before changing it. Removing an add-on removes its extra allowance when the change takes effect.

Your total allowances#

Your current plan shows your plan name, trial end date where applicable, and everything available now. Team seats shows members used out of total seats, the included seats plus purchased extras, and seats available. Files storage shows the total allowance, included storage plus purchased packs, and space used or uploading. Custom storage agreements are labeled separately. An over-limit message explains what to change before adding more. The included-feature badges identify Screening (including a Shop add-on), trapping, API access for custom integrations, and label copy. Reviewers are unlimited and do not use team seats.

The plan editor updates Your new subscription as you choose: total seats, total storage, Screening access, itemized charges, and the recurring total. Monthly is the default for a new subscription; annual prices show the full yearly payment. Guided setup is a separate one-time amount. These are estimates before tax; review the final Stripe amount before confirming. The confirmation page separates Due today, the new recurring total, and any Billing credit. Credits display as positive labeled amounts and apply to future invoices, not cash refunds.

Your subscription#

The capacity cards are followed by Billing details: next payment amount and date (after account credits), renewal interval or cancellation, subscription start date, and a table of every recurring plan and add-on with unit price and quantity. Invoice totals can include taxes, prorated adjustments and account credits.

Invoices, payment details and cancelling#

Choose Manage billing to open Stripe's billing portal for your team. That is where you update your payment method, see past invoices, or cancel the plan. Change plans and add-ons in the app using the review step above. The portal sends you back to the app when you leave it.

If a renewal payment fails, the page shows Your payment needs attention with Update payment details. Your paid plan remains available while the subscription is past due and Stripe retries payment. If the subscription becomes unpaid or is cancelled after payment recovery ends, the team returns to Free allowances. Existing files and members are kept; new uploads or invitations may be blocked when the team is above those allowances.

Note: Cancelling

A cancelled subscription keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for. The page shows Renewal as Canceled, with the date access ends.
