The Schedule only plans work inside working time. Your shop hours apply to every machine; a machine can have its own hours, and downtime removes time from the shop or from one machine. Hours and downtime are set on Schedule › Setup › Machines & hours by team admins. Operators can report a breakdown from their station.
Shop hours#
Shop hours has a row for each day with its working times, shown and typed the way the board shows times: 8:00 AM on a 12-hour clock (8am and 17:30 work too), 08:00 on a 24-hour one. Add hours adds a range to a day, the cross removes one, and a day without any is Closed. Start from fills the week from a preset: 8–5 weekdays, Two shifts 6–22 or 24/5. Copy Monday to weekdays repeats Monday's hours. Save hours keeps your changes and Undo changes drops them. A new team starts with Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
- A day can have several ranges, such as 06:00–14:00 and 14:30–22:00.
- A range can cross midnight: a night shift of 22:00–06:00 starts on the evening of its day.
- Midnight at the end of a range (12:00 AM, or 24:00) ends it at the end of the day.
Your time zone#
The Schedule uses your team's time zone, set by an admin in the team settings (see Teams, members and roles). A team without one uses UTC. The first-run guide and Shop hours say which zone the hours are in, and while your team has none they offer your browser's zone: Use Europe/London, for example, sets it for the whole team. Hours stay in local time when the clocks change: a 06:00–22:00 shift is still 06:00–22:00 on the day the clocks go forward.
A machine's own hours#
A machine uses The shop's hours unless you switch its Hours to Its own hours (in the machine's More section), which you edit the same way. Use them for a press that runs a night shift, or a finishing bench staffed only in the mornings.
An outside vendor has no hours of its own (its More section has no Hours): it counts as open all the time, so its turnaround runs through nights and weekends.
Downtime#
Downtime takes time away. Add it under Downtime and overtime with Add downtime: the machine (or Whole shop), From and To, the kind and a reason.
| Kind | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Closed | Holidays and other days the shop or a machine doesn't work. |
| Maintenance | Planned service, calibration or cleaning. |
| Breakdown | The machine is broken. Usually reported from the station. |
| Overtime | Extra working time. It adds time instead of removing it. |
Work planned across the downtime moves later at once. Makeready is never split across a gap: a job's makeready happens in one go, while its run can pause over a night or a weekend and carry on. The board shows maintenance and breakdowns as stripes on the machine's row, with their reason.
Breakdowns#
When an operator taps Machine down at the station, the machine's time is blocked from now. The operator answers Back up when?: 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, End of shift or Not known (planned as one hour). If the machine is still down when that time comes, the Schedule moves the expected end on by 30 minutes, again and again until someone taps Machine back up (or Back up now in the downtime list), so the plan never assumes the repair is quicker than it is. Planners get a Machine down alert. See The station.
Overtime#
Add overtime to plan work outside the normal hours: add downtime of the kind Overtime on one machine for the evening or the Saturday you'll work. Work planned on that machine moves into the new time at once.
Planned: On the board
Right-click (or long-press) empty time on a machine's row to Open this time (overtime) or Add downtime here; dragging across empty time fills in the range.
