Schedule settings

Every Schedule setting: the time fence, planning window, finish buffer, automatic adding and placing, who can plan, alerts and more.

The Schedule's settings are on Schedule › Setup › Settings. Only team admins can change them; they apply to the whole team. Scripts can read and change them too (see Schedule API).

The Schedule has no time zone of its own: it uses your team's (see Teams, members and roles).

Planning#

Time fence#

Time fence: 120 minutes unless you change it. Steps planned to start within this many minutes from now, and the next two on each station, keep their machine and their place in the queue when you place or re-plan work. See Placing and re-planning.

Planning window#

Planning window: 21 days unless you change it. How far ahead the Schedule plans. It looks up to 60 days ahead when a job needs it; a step that still doesn't fit is shown as a conflict.

Finish early by#

Finish early by: 0 unless you change it. Aim to finish every job this many working minutes before it is due, for packing or delivery you don't schedule. Late risk is measured against the due date less the buffer.

End of the day#

End of the day: 17:00 unless you change it. A due date without a time means this time, in your team's time zone.

Fill idle gaps#

Fill idle gaps: on for a new team. A later ready step may run in a gap while an earlier step waits, as long as the waiting step doesn't start later because of it. See Placing and re-planning.

Plan jobs with an expected date#

Plan jobs with an expected date: on for a new team. Jobs that wait for a ready check with an expected date are planned from that date, hatched, instead of staying in the tray. See Ready checks.

Jobs from Imposition#

Add jobs to the tray#

Add jobs to the tray: on for a new team. Choosing a layout in Imposition adds the job to the tray. When it's off, the tray's Imposed, not on the schedule section lists those jobs with Add and Add all.

Place ready jobs automatically#

Place ready jobs automatically: off for a new team. A new job whose ready checks all pass is placed on the board by itself, the same way as Place: it never reorders work already planned. Each automatic placement is in the job's activity.

The floor#

Track makeready#

Track makeready: off for a new team. Stations show Makeready done after Start, so makeready and run are timed separately and each step's actual makeready is recorded.

People#

Who can plan#

Who can plan: All members (the default) or Admins only. Planning is placing, moving, pinning, holding, changing a job's steps and waiving ready checks. Everyone can always see the board and use the stations: start, pause, finish, report problems and tick manual checks.

Alerts#

Emails#

Emails: who is emailed when A machine goes down and when A job is going to be late: Email the planners (the default), Email the admins or Don't email. See Late risk and alerts.

Warning: Not sent yet

The Schedule doesn't send these emails yet. Your choice is kept, and the alerts show on the team home.

At risk#

At risk: 240 working minutes (4 hours) unless you change it. A job with less spare time than this is At risk. See Late risk and alerts.

Before a step starts#

Ready checks#

Ready checks: which built-in checks your team uses, and your own manual checks with the step each one holds back. See Ready checks.

Require a proof for every item#

Require a proof for every item: off for a new team. When on, an item with no proof request fails the Proof check instead of passing it.

Shop hours#

Shop hours: your team's working week. Each machine can also have its own hours. See Shop hours and downtime.

Planned: Later

A daily summary email at a time you choose, and hiding customer names on stations.
