What to check before sending screened output to production
Review the source, device settings, curves and output files as one controlled screening workflow.
Screening turns the selected source into output for a particular production process. The right settings depend on the device and the work, so a successful render is only one part of the release check.
Confirm the source
Identify the artwork or imposed-sheet version used by the screening job. A corrected proof or layout does not automatically make an earlier screened result current. If the source changes, determine which outputs need to be regenerated.
AutomatePrint can create screening jobs from uploaded PDFs, files already in Files and supported imposition sources. Check the source and preflight result before proceeding.
Review the profile and device
Confirm the intended device, resolution and screening configuration. Review ink names and any channel-specific choices so the output matches the production specification.
Use curves appropriate to the process and the measurements behind them. Keep the settings understandable to the operator who will verify the plates or output.
Inspect the result
Open representative regions at sufficient magnification to inspect the generated dots. Check fine text, gradients, solids and relevant separations. Confirm that all required pages and channels are present.
Review the report and any warnings rather than treating a downloadable file as proof that every production condition is satisfied.
Check the output handoff
Confirm filenames, dimensions and the format expected by the receiving device or workflow. Keep the source version and profile identifiable alongside the output.
For a new device or material setup, validate with the production tests the shop requires. A digital inspection cannot replace every physical calibration or quality check.
AutomatePrint includes Screening on Production and offers it as an add-on for Shop. Review current plan details before selecting the configuration.
