10 checks before a new print workflow becomes the daily routine
Verify people, files and production handoffs before moving active work into a new process.
A workflow is ready for daily use when the team can complete an ordinary job, recover from a common mistake and find information without depending on one person. Use this checklist before moving a larger group of active orders.
- Individual access. Confirm that staff can sign in and use the correct team.
- Roles and capacity. Review administrative responsibility, member count and available seats.
- File organization. Agree on customer and job structure and required properties.
- Version recovery. Practice finding an earlier file and explaining what changed.
- Preflight profiles. Check settings against the work the shop intends to run.
- Customer proofing. Complete a review with a correction and final decision.
- Equipment assumptions. Validate dimensions, speeds, setup and handling values.
- Production exports. Test a representative print and cutting handoff with the operator.
- Schedule readiness. Make unavailable material, incomplete approvals and downtime visible.
- Support ownership. Identify who handles questions, configuration changes and exceptions.
Use a small first batch
Choose work that represents the normal process and has time for review. Keep a clear record of which jobs are moving so staff do not maintain conflicting production files.
AutomatePrint's app-specific documentation and first-use guidance help staff find the next step. Use them during onboarding and note shop-specific instructions in your operating procedure.
Review the result together
After the first batch, compare planned and actual effort. Fix common points of confusion before expanding. A repeatable process is a stronger foundation for automation than a large set of undocumented shortcuts.
