3D mockups for commercial print: cards, brochures, books and signs
Packaging isn't the only work that's easier to approve in 3D. Folded brochures, two-sided cards, books and signs all hide something on a flat proof.
Commercial print has its own version of the flat-proof problem. A tri-fold brochure is approved as two spreads, but read panel by panel. A business card has a back that customers forget to check. A roll-up banner is approved at a fraction of its size and then seen across a hall.
Folded print: brochures, greeting cards and tents
Bi-folds, tri-folds, Z-folds, gate folds and tent cards fold from the page size, with the outside from page 1 and the inside from page 2. The opening can be set anywhere from flat to closed, so a reviewer sees the panel order the way a reader meets it: cover first, then the inside spread.
Two-sided pieces: cards, tags and stickers
Business cards, postcards, hang tags and round stickers turn over. Page 2 goes on the back, the hole of a hang tag is cut where it will be, and the board, uncoated or kraft, shows the way the paper will.
Bound work: books, notebooks and folders
A hardcover or paperback cover is placed as one spread across back, spine and front, so the spine text and the wrap round the boards can be checked. Notebooks, presentation folders and calendars are in the library too.
Large format: banners and signs
Roll-up banners, yard signs, A-frames, framed posters, flags and billboards show the print at real size on its stand, frame or stake. Seeing a banner next to its own base makes it obvious when the important copy sits too low to read.
One file, no extra tool
All of it happens in the 1-up editor on the same PDF that will be printed, with no separate 3D tool or seat. The finished mockup can be downloaded as a PNG or a GLB, or shared as a 3D proof behind the same link as the flat one.
